MySpace Announces Contest For Citizen Journalists
Myspace has joined hands with MSNBC.com and NBC news channel to further the propagation of citizen journalism.

The growing craze for citizen journalism has caused MySpace to team up with NBC news and MSNBC.com to launch "Decision 2008 Convention" contest that will provide two lucky users of MySpace with an opportunity to attend and report at either the Democratic or Republic national convention.

A press release revealed that the videos for the contest, prepared by participants should not exceed two minutes and should answer some general questions.

The contest will be judged by MSNBC personalities, including Willie Geist, Mika Brzezinski, Joe Scarborough along with Tom Anderson, president of MySpace and Lee Brenner.

After a long session of cut throat competition, five candidates will be short listed who will then go through a voting procedure at MySpace community.

The two final winners chosen by MySpace will get a chance to represent Myspace community, thereby serving the conventions as reporters.

The late date for registration is 16th July.

The politically themed contest will not only show off the politically conscious aspect of the users of MySpace, it will also be a great chance for the budding journalists to showcase their talent.
